Accessibility Statement

Brown County Playhouse is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to ensure our website is usable by the widest possible audience.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the most recent generally accepted Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, which provide guidance on making web content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities.

While we strive to adhere to accepted accessibility standards and best practices, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and address any accessibility barriers.

Accessibility Features

The Brown County Playhouse website is designed to support accessibility through measures such as:

  • Logical heading structure and readable text
  • Keyboard navigation support
  • Use of alternative text for meaningful images
  • Color contrast considerations for readability
  • Responsive layouts for assistive technologies

Visiting the Venue

The Playhouse offers wheelchair and mobility seating, bookable as a Special Needs — Wheelchair and assistance needed ticket on any show where it is available. In the venue's own words:

Special Needs Tickets are limited to those individuals who have mobility issues or use a wheelchair. A maximum of two tickets may be purchased for the individual and a companion. Due to the original design of the Playhouse, only 6 tickets are available for this area.

Groups larger than two people will need to purchase regular general admission tickets for the others in the group. The Playhouse volunteers will try to find a place close to the special needs seating for the others in the group.

The Playhouse encourages early ticket purchases as some shows sell out.

Because there are only six of these spaces and they are not guaranteed on every performance, please book early or call the box office on 812.988.6555 and we will tell you exactly what is available for the show you want.

For anything else about your visit — entry, restrooms, assisted listening, parking close to the building — please contact the box office before you book. We would rather talk it through than have you arrive to a surprise.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we regularly review our website to improve accessibility and usability. We welcome feedback and are committed to making reasonable accommodations to ensure access for all users.
